Boone’s Nursery Reveal

One of my favorite joys of this season was getting to dream up and design our sweet boy’s nursery. I truthfully really wanted a little guy first, so it was all the more exciting to get to put it together.

As far as the ‘theme’ goes — I stuck with earth tones/neutrals and wanted to incorporate elements of the outdoors since those are big parts of our family ( and my own personal style, because let’s face it — I’m going to be spending a great deal of time in there, too!) I also really love children’s books, so I wanted to incorporate a reading corner in a cute way. I didn’t want anything overly cheesy/boyish — I’m sure there will come a time when he has his own preferences of what his room looks like, but for now, I could make it as Pinterest worthy as I wanted. ;)

The first thing I started with was his glider. I knew I’d be spending a lot of time there, and wanted it to be both comfortable + functional, but also beautiful. I love it so much and find its my favorite place to sit and just dream about him being here with me.

Next up - his crib! I spent a lot of time (probably way too much) trying to find a good crib that fit the look I wanted (mid century modern, clean lines, etc.) while also being a bit budget conscious since I splurged on the glider. Cribs are so expensive, y’all! Pair that with post-COVID shipping delays and it was actually a bit of a challenge. I’m happy with what we settled on — hoping it lasts for Boone + all the babies to come.

Next up is his dresser/changing station area — I love how this little corner turned out! I had found the cutest dresser but once again wanted to save some money here — so my mom helped me refinish this Facebook Marketplace find! We painted it the cutest shade of green (it actually matches our front door, which is where I fell in love with it in the first place) and then spray painted the hardware gold to match the mirror. All in all it was less than $150 to transform this piece and I love how unique the shape of it is. A few other special touches here — his embroidered name sweater, the denim jacket my grandpa wore as a child (his Super Papa and where we got the name Bangle from), his piggy bank from Super Grandma and Super Papa, and some sweet little books!

Lastly, this little corner of the room — I wanted to add a twin bed in here in case one of us was staying up to feed him and let the other sleep — and I just thought it was so cozy and sweet. I fell in love with the look of vintage Jenny Lind beds, and found this cute spindle bedframe that reminds me of them. As you can see, it doesn’t fit perfectly, but I still love it! We added a map of the National Parks, some cute accent pillows, and the coziest linen bedding. It’s our dog’s current favorite cuddle spot, too!

That wraps up his cozy little room — I can’t wait to have him in my arms in this space. Counting down the days!

— Kenzie
