5 Easy Sustainable Changes I’ve Made

IMG-2455.JPG

This year, I have been trying to make a conscious effort to choose cleaner products in my home, as well as making changes that leave less of a footprint on the earth and landfills. Here are 5 easy sustainable changes that I have made in our home this year!

  1. Metal Straws. Thankfully coffee shops are beginning to offer alternatives to drinking straws, but I decided to make the switch at home! I use these for my smoothies and iced coffee and I really like them.

  2. Reusable sandwich bags. This one is something I was looking for when I worked in a corporate office. Having reusable sandwich bags is a great option to keep in your house, plus it cuts down on the cost of constantly buying bags. I always try and store food in reusable containers.

  3. Silicon baking sheets. These are a must for baking/cooking, and its a plus that they help contribute to a more sustainable kitchen! They are awesome for a non-stick cooking experience. Cookies, veggies, you name it! Plus, you won’t have to line your pans with parchment paper or foil, which is also highly toxic.

  4. Reusable paper towels. This is a switch we are still in the process of getting used to, but I wanted to stop using sooo many paper towels. So, I found these on Amazon and they can be thrown in the washer to reuse them after each use. They are quite absorbent and I think it is going to be a good switch!

  5. Reusable water bottle. Lastly, this one is a given - but I try to never buy plastic water bottles. Having a great water bottle that keeps my drinks cool for a long time is a must - and an easy switch to a more sustainable option!

I hope you all found this helpful. I can’t wait to explore more options and continue sharing my sustainable finds with you all!
