Favorite Jeans for Capsule Wardrobe

Have you always had a hard time finding jeans that you felt good in?

I spent the past few years thinking that jeans just didn’t look good on me because I couldn’t find a pair that I felt like flattered my body type.

The truth is, I just didn’t know what I was looking for when it came to a good pair of denim, and I just wasn’t confident!

Here are three pairs and brands that I love, and work great for my body type. Keep in mind, every body is different, but as a rule of thumb: I find that when I save up and spend a bit more on a nicer pair of jeans - I am more satisfied with the fit, quality, and durability than a cheaper pair. I have tried budgeting for $60-75 jeans - nothing crazy, but I realized that the $20 pairs I kept trying weren’t the right pair for me!

  1. Levi’s Ribcage jeans OR Levi’s Wedgie jeans. Both of these styles are excellent options - and Levi’s has expanded their processes to include more sustainable practices when it comes to water usage - so that is a plus! They are a no-stretch, 100% cotton option, which I love.

  2. Everlane 90’s Cheeky Jeans. This is my ultimate favorite pair of jeans - and I have them in three colors! I wear them all on a weekly basis. I love the fit, and the quality of denim is really great. Everlane is also an ethical brand that has a transparent supply chain, so you know that these garments are ethically made.

  3. American Eagle Curvy Mom Jeans. This pair is a great cheaper alternative, and I do really like them! The denim is much thinner, so I can definitely tell a quality difference - but I love the fit of these, and that this line is made for women with curves and I don’t run into the awkward back-gap in the waist of my jeans (if you know, you know).

All in all, a good pair of jeans has quickly become a staple in my wardrobe once I found the perfect fit and quality I was looking for - they are a piece that can be dressed up or down, worn to run errands or to the office - which makes them a great addition to a capsule or intentional wardrobe!
